I work intuitively more often than not. My best work is evocative and poetic; a metaphor. There are references to landscapes and shapes that seem to suggest trees or other natural things. Some pieces are more formal in nature and are about the process itself. I like the pieces to remain a little open, unexplained, where the viewer can enter freely with his/her own interpretations. There are a range of interpretations that are more fitting. I do spend a lot of time studying color and listening to jazz. Composing is what I enjoy most. There are a few specific kinds of abstraction in which I find my kindred artists. I am drawn to the abstract works of Kandinsky and Paul Klee, and Arthur Dove.
